NB Institute for Rural Technology (NBIRT) – a registered society under registration act 1860 was incorporated in the year 1989. It works as an NGO for the development of rural communities in India.

The institute is managed by a group of Scientists, Technologists and Academicians.

The institute is headed by Sri S.P. Gon Chaudhuri, who is renowned as an international expert in the field of alternative sources of energy.

He is a recipient of many national and international awards for his outstanding contribution in the field of alternative sources of energy.

The Institute executes a large number of activities in the area of human resource development, creation of green jobs and promotion of alternative energy sources. The Institute executes all the projects through a large number of volunteers and activists
